The Sam Bruton Group
| Sam Bruton, piano –After beginning his musical
career in Denver, Sam moved to NC where he started the Sam Bruton Group,
a band that played concerts and club dates in the Raleigh-Durham area
for 10 years. For much of that time SBG featured Karen Greene on
saxophone. Since moving to Mississippi 11 years ago, Sam has performed
with John Wooton and Kaiso!, Andy Narell, Larry Panella, the USM
Symphony Orchestra, Chris Cortez, and he appeared two years ago at
Jazz in the Grove with Delfeayo Marsalis. By day, Sam is an
associate professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at
Southern Miss. |

Karen
Greene, saxophone
– Over the course of a distinguished 30 year career in music, Karen has
performed with various well- known artists such as the Glenn Miller
Orchestra, Natalie Cole, Melva Houston, Still Creek, Neena Freelon,
Carnavalito and Tom Browne, in addition to guest appearances with the
North Carolina Symphony and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra. After moving to
North Carolina from her native West Virginia, Karen now resides in
Atlanta, where she is the owner of Spin South Productions. She is a
two-time Grammy award-winning audio engineer and director whose clients
include Yamaha, Ritz-Carlton Hotels Worldwide, Ashford and Simpson and
Branford Marsalis.

Danny Infante, bass – Danny has worked with
some of the biggest names in music, including Celine Dion Natalie Cole,
Wayne Newton, The Four Tops, The Drifters, The Coasters and Bo Diddley.
He has performed with jazz giants Count Basie, Woody Herman, Dizzy
Gillespie, Stan Getz, Richie Cole, Doc Severinsen, The Manhattan
Transfer and Dave Brubeck. Danny has played throughout Japan, Europe,
Canada, and across the United States, and he was once a regular on the
most prestigious stages on the Las Vegas Strip including Bally's, MGM,
Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Stardust, Imperial Palace, and the Aladdin. Danny
now lives in Ocean Springs.

Jeff Mills, drums – Since graduating from
Southern Miss, Jeff has become a much sought-after percussionist, having
played with King Konga, Chris Cortez, Matt Christenot, Andy Narell,
Kevin Clark and the Jazz Revelation, John Wooton and Kaiso!, Big Daddy
Weave, Chris Thomas King, Harmonica Red, and John Gros. After a long
stint at the The Famous Door on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Jeff now
resides in Hattiesburg. Jeff is also a well-known instructor and
clinician and has served for several years as a featured clinician at
USM’s Summer Drumming camp. Jeff endorses Vic Firth Sticks and Stagg
Cymbals and cases.
